*The Class of 2008 includes both graduating students who will march and receive degrees and those who are members of the class but who have not yet completed all degree requirements. Members of the Class of 2008 who will not receive degrees are still encouraged to march in the Saturday Class Day ceremony as well as the All University Commencement (Phase I) on Sunday morning. During Phase II, Fletcher Commencement (11:15 on Sunday), only those who will be receiving their degree or meet the following conditions are able to march:

  • One-year degree program students will be eligible to fully participate in the May graduation ceremonies if they have completed all requirements for the degree, save one requirement. This means that one of the following items could remain outstanding: completion/recording of one course grade, the language requirement (both written and oral examinations passed) or the thesis requirement.
  • Two-year degree program students will be eligible to fully participate in the May graduation ceremonies if they have completed all requirements for the degree, save two requirements. This means that a total of two of the following items could remain outstanding: completion/recording of one course grade (s), the language requirement (both written and oral examinations passed), and/or the thesis requirement. For example, a MALD student would be eligible to fully participate in the May ceremonies if s/he had two course grades outstanding or one course grade and the foreign language requirement outstanding.

Please note that missing course grades includes courses taken outside of Fletcher in the spring term. Any questions on these matters should be addressed to Nora Moser McMillan in the Registrar’s Office.
