Getting here

This page offers directions for getting to Tufts University Medford/Somerville campus, where The Fletcher School and World Peace Foundation are located. Below are suggestions for driving, using mass transit or taxi/car service, as well as a link to parking information at Tufts.

Driving:

From the North--Take I-93 S to Exit 32, Medford Square. From the exit ramp, take the first right off the traffic circle, Route 60 west. At the second set of lights, bear left on Main Street and take an immediate right on to Route 16 west. Continue on Route 16 for approximately one and a quarter miles. An athletic field will appear on your right. Bear left through the next traffic circle and proceed up the hill on Powder House Boulevard. At the third traffic light turn left onto Packard Avenue. You are now on the Tufts campus. 

From the Northwest--Take Route 2 East. At the junction of Routes 2 and 16, bear left through a full traffic light on Route 16 east. Take Route 16 east through two full traffic lights. You will see blue signs on the right for Tufts University. Follow the blue signs and take a sharp right up the hill on Powder House Boulevard. At the third traffic light turn left onto Packard Avenue. You are now on the Tufts campus.

From the South or Southwest--take I-95 N to Route 2 east (Exit 29A). At the junction of Routes 2 and 16, bear left through a full traffic light on Route 16 east. Take Route 16 east through two traffic lights. You will see blue signs on the right for Tufts University. Follow the blue signs and take a sharp right up the hill on Powder House Boulevard. At the third traffic light turn left onto Packard Avenue. You are now on the Tufts campus.

From Logan Airport—Follow signs to I-93N and then follow directions from Boston, below. 

From the South or Boston--Take I-93N to Exit 31. Follow the exit ramp to Route 16 west. Continue on Route 16 for approximately one and a quarter miles. An athletic field will appear on your right. Bear left through the next traffic circle and proceed up the hill on Powder House Boulevard. At the third traffic light turn left onto Packard Avenue. You are now on the Tufts campus.

Mass Transit:

Subway or “T”--Take the Red Line to the Davis Square Station.

From Logan Airport--Take the Silver Line 1 (bus), which stops at each terminal, to South Station. Then transfer to the Red Line (subway) outbound to the Davis Square Station.

From South Station (Amtrak/Bus)--Take the Red Line to the Davis Square Station.

From Davis Square Station to campus--Exit the subway on the College Avenue side. You may take the #94 or #96 bus or walk 15 minutes along College Avenue to the Tufts campus. The MBTA bus costs $1.25.  If you board the bus, ask the driver to stop across from the Memorial Steps at Tufts University, just before the intersection of College and Boston Avenues. If you walk, turn right out of the subway station and follow College Avenue around a traffic circle. The Tufts campus will be on your left.

The Tufts Shuttle Bus is free and picks up riders at the College Ave subway exit of the Davis Square subway stop approximately every 20 minutes starting at 7:15am.  The shuttle makes two stops; the second stop is in front of the Olin Center just past The Fletcher School's Cabot Intercultural Center.  Please note that the shuttle runs only during fall and spring semesters when classes are in session.
