In 2007, Tufts University School of Medicine began the search for a robust, feature-rich web content management system that would allow individuals across the school to edit web pages.
A committee-based evaluation process led to the eventual selection of Sitecore, a popular .NET CMS that offers up-to-date tools for web editors, is easier to use, and offers better compatibility with much of TUSM's existing technology infrastructure and planned development.
In 2009, the Sackler Graduate School of Biomedical Sciences’ website was launched on Sitecore, and the CTSI site followed shortly after. That same year, the Fletcher School of Law & Diplomacy joined with Tufts University School of Medicine to form a consortium to share, support and manage the implementation of Sitecore.
The Fletcher School launched their site in summer 2011, and TUSM's newly redesigned site went live in March 2012.
Prior to fall 2012, Fletcher and TUSM rolled out the OASYS service to more than 30 editors at both schools.
