On the MIB: Like many MIB students, I debated between choosing a traditional MBA program and  Fletcher’s MIB. I chose Fletcher because of the MIB’s unique curriculum. Before Fletcher, I worked as an equity research analyst at an emerging market hedge fund. My working experience made me realize that it takes more than analyzing financial statements to have success in an international market and that understanding the social, economic and cultural environment in each individual country is crucial for effective analysis. Fletcher has the capacity to help me build a unique skill set with knowledge from both the financial perspective and the international studies context.

My favorite class: My favorite class is global investment management. As a non-business school, it’s impressive that Fletcher is able to offer such a strong finance course. We not only have a professor with significant industry experience, but also have passionate students who enjoy  being actively engaged in this challenging and stimulating class. The course is focused on empirical learning rather than on theory alone, and I have found the course to be very useful in preparing me for my future career.
