How I first learned about Fletcher: I first learned about Fletcher through a friend who was working as a policy analyst in Washington, DC. He knew about my interests in international law and human rights and suggested I take a look at Fletcher and their LLM program. I was at dinner a few months later with an employee from the Rwanda Tribunal and I mentioned Fletcher. The next thing I knew, he was giving me a speech on the reasons why I should attend Fletcher: well known in the international field, incredible curriculum, and an opportunity to interact with other masters students in various connected fields. His enthusiasm convinced me to check out the school more closely, and the rest is history!
On the diversity of the school: Fletcher's student body is incredibly diverse. In my first week of school, everyone I met was from a different part of the world and each came to Fletcher with their own set of experiences. As a lawyer taking courses with the MALD and MIB students, my perspective on law and the many intersecting subjects that law touches upon has greatly diversified. For example, in my Rule of Law in Post Conflict Societies class, discussions are filled with input from people who have either worked on the ground or lived in the country. From finance to health, these subjects all have an impact on the Rule of Law and add a much needed perspective to the subject area.
