My favorite thing about Fletcher:  So far my time in the classroom has been my favorite part about Fletcher. Discussing everything from international trade negotiations to starting up a new ice cream franchise with classmates of such varying backgrounds has been great. Everyone looks at each topic from an angle relevant to their own cultural or professional background, which gives me utterly unique insights. For instance, where else could I learn principles of market research from social business projects completed in Bangladesh?

How I learned about Fletcher? I first learned about The Fletcher School while sitting in a ripped canvas tent in the Negev Desert of Southern Israel. I had just started advanced combat training in the Israel Defense Forces, and, with the help of an exhaustion induced epiphany, decided that I wanted to attend graduate school after my release from the army. As soon as I zeroed in on international development and began researching top graduate schools related to that field, I came across The Fletcher School. I talked to several development economists and each one told me that Fletcher was the place I should be. I spent the next several months of my combat training running back and forth from the field to the computer that I kept hidden under my sleeping bag, working on my Fletcher application during short rest times between my commanders' orders. When I heard back from Fletcher and knew that I would be starting there in the fall, it was a pretty amazing feeling.
