Something that has surprised me about Fletcher: I came to Fletcher expecting to find myself in just another university, very well known indeed, but just another university. I was expecting an institution well fortified behind its established reputation, and one with a clear separation between faculty and students. I couldn't have been more wrong. At Fletcher, everyone is here to help you and to work with you. The entire Fletcher community, no matter what their title, is waiting for you to reach out and ask for whatever it is that you need. It was this behavior that made me feel like I was part of a large family from the very first days of orientation, and this will be the most valuable thing I'll take home with me after I graduate.

On the classroom experience: Being in class at Fletcher is a unique and exciting experience. It is the unparalleled quality and vast teaching experience of the faculty, combined with the wide spectrum of the students (in terms of both nationality and professional background), that compels you to participate. The exchange of ideas, sharing thoughts and experiences, and questioning arguments is what makes the class environment so interesting, thus satisfying ones quest for knowledge. These interactions are facilitated by the faculty who guide the discussions by providing challenging questions and welcoming interventions instead of just relaying information.
