Our tentative schedule is as follows:
Friday, September 2
Reception and Dinner at Le Meridien Hotel with members of the GMAP Class of 2012, who will have just completed their midyear residency. Dean Nutter will provide welcome remarks.
Saturday, September 3
GMAP Professor Anna Seleny will lead a discussion on the current situation in Central Europe, after which she will interview Zsuzsa Szelenyi, GMAP 10, who was a student leader and MP during the political transition in the 90s. The discussion will be held over brunch.
Winery visit to Etyek, in the wine region outside of Budapest. The visit will include a wine tasting and dinner.
Sunday, September 4
Professor Seleny will lead a discussion on Sunday morning on the Arab Spring. Following a break, Dean Nutter will interview Anita Orban, Fletcher PhD and the current Ambassador-at-Large for Energy Security of the Hungarian Ministry of Foreign Affairs. The discussion will be held over brunch.
Walking tour throughout the Castle District.
Closing reception and dinner at a contemporary Hungarian restaurant in the Castle District.
We have reserved rooms at Le Meridien Hotel for the residency and we will use that as our base for the alumni weekend. There is a block for rooms at reduced rates for you to reserve individually if you would like to stay there with the group. .
