    Erik Dahl is Assistant Professor of National Security Affairs at the Naval Postgraduate School in Monterey, California, where he is on the faculty of both the National Security Affairs Department and the Center for Homeland Defense and Security. Dahl retired from the U.S. Navy in 2002 after serving 21 years as an intelligence officer.

    Security in Somalia: Political, Legal and Operational Dimensions

    The unprecedented attack that occurred in Kenya in September was a stark reminder that terrorism in the horn of Africa is alive, and growing more insidious. Against this backdrop, the Fletcher Africana Club and the Harvard Kennedy School Africa Caucus believe that an investigation of the latest operational, legal and political aspects that have engulfed Somalia and led to the rise of Al-Shabab would be both timely and relevant.
