Renewable energy markets and policy frameworks have evolved rapidly in recent years. The Renewables Global Status Report, an annual publication of the Renewable Energy Policy Network for the 21st Century, tracks the developments in the field of renewable energy. The report provides a comprehensive and timely overview of renewable energy market, industry, investment, and policy developments worldwide.
The most recent edition of the report launched on June 11, 2012. CIERP Director William Moomaw, Section Author, worked with Postdoctoral Fellow Maria Petrova, Lead Topical Contributor, to produce the chapter on Energy Efficiency and Renewable Energy.
The report notes that during 2011, renewables continued to grow strongly in all end-use sectors – power, heating and cooling and transport. Renewable sources have grown to supply 16.7 % of global final energy consumption.
