Online Office Hours
Online Office Hours are a great way to learn about The Fletcher School and the application process.  Office Hours are offered every Wednesday from 11:00 AM to 12:30 PM local (Boston) time.  Topics will vary throughout the year, as will the students, faculty, and staff members involved, but there will always be an Office of Admissions representative to answer any questions you may have. Connect here.
Interviews

A personal evaluative interview is a valuable way for you to share information about yourself and to learn how The Fletcher School will meet your academic and professional goals. The interview is strongly recommended, but is not a required part of the admissions process. PhD applicants in particular are strongly encouraged to schedule an interview.

Interviews are generally conducted daily during the fall term, from September through December 10th, and on a limited basis until January 14th. To schedule an interview, please contact the Office of Admissions. As availability is limited, we encourage you to schedule your interview well in advance of the desired date. Interviews should be completed at least one week before your application is submitted.

Interviews are generally conducted by carefully selected and trained Fletcher students, though admissions staff members also conduct some interviews, particularly when demand is at its peak. The format is relaxed and designed to provide insight into The Fletcher School, allowing you to share information that may not have a place on the application form. The interviewer will take notes about your goals and perceived ability to succeed at The Fletcher School. The notes will become part of your application file.

Information Sessions
From September through December, small group Information Sessions and brief tours are offered most Mondays and Fridays at 12:30 PM and Thursdays at 4:30 PM. From January through July, small group Information Sessions and brief tours are offered most Mondays at 12:30 PM.  To view the complete schedule with specific dates and times, and to register to attend an information session, please visit this page. Information Sessions are generally led by current students, with Office of Admissions staff members joining the conversation to answer questions on admissions topics.
Class Visits

We invite you to sit in on classes during your visit to Fletcher. You may wish to review the current course schedule to find out which courses are being offered this semester. Advance registration is not required—we simply ask that you observe the following guidelines to ensure that your class visit is a positive experience for all:

  • Arrive at the classroom a few minutes early and let the professor know you would like to sit in on the class.
  • Plan to stay until the break or for the duration of the class.
  • Act as an observer rather than a participant during the class, unless the professor specifically calls on you.
  • Understand that professors might prefer not to include visitors in classes with exams, group presentations, or other times when having it may not be ideal to have a visitor present.
MIB Visit Days
If you are considering applying to the MIB program, we encourage you to plan your visit for one of our MIB Visit Days during the fall semester. During visit days, we offer an MIB-focused information session, class visits, and current students will be available to answer your questions. To register for MIB Visit Days, please visit mibvisitdays.eventbrite.com or contact the Office of Admissions with questions. If your schedule does not accommodate this schedule, we still encourage you to visit during the weekday of your convenience.
PHD Visit Days
If you already have a master’s degree and will apply directly to Fletcher’s PhD program, we encourage you to attend one of our PhD Visit Days during the fall semester. We’ll offer a special Information Session, and current PhD students will be available to answer your questions. To register for a PhD Visit Day, please go to phdvisitdays.eventbrite.com/ or contact the Office of Admissions with questions. If the scheduled Visit Days are not convenient for you, we encourage you take advantage of our regular campus visit opportunities at another time.
