The cost of living varies widely depending on students' needs and preferences. A single student can generally expect living expenses of at least $1,400 - $1,700 per month, or approximately $12,000 - $14,500 for the nine-month academic year. An additional $300 per month should be calculated for a spouse and an additional $150 per month for each dependent child.
As elsewhere, off-campus housing varies greatly according to location and quality. Generally, students who share accommodations (two-, three-, or four-bedroom apartments) pay an average of $500 - $800 each per month. One-bedroom apartments (utilities not included) may range from $1,200 - $1,500 per month. Utilities costs average $100 - $250 per month over the course of a rental year.
On-campus housing in Blakeley Hall generally is comparable in expense to off-campus alternatives. The Blakeley Hall room fee for academic year 2011-12 is $5,200. A board plan (10 meals per week) is available for all students for $3,562 per academic year. Partial board plans are also available.
